Environment sustainability is a social goal setup to exist on earth over a long-time rainwater harvesting, solar energy, LED lights, waste management etc are initiated to counter major environmental issues.
Alternate Energy - Solar
The institution set up a 50kWp solar PV generation with maxE configuration, 50-kilowatt system that generates 75000 units of electricity every year. Institution has done this with an on-grid system, on a lease model. The per-unit cost paid by the institution is 8.5 rupees, lesser than that from BESCOM (the utility provider). This indicates about institution alternative energy for self and support society at large.
Rainwater Harvesting
College has made efforts for Rainwater harvesting place for the collection and storage of rain, rather than allowing it to run off. Rainwater is collected from a roof-like surface and redirected to a tank, deep pit so that it seeps down and restores the ground water.
Waste Management
Dry waste which is not bio degradable, wet waste which can be converted into compost and e-waste are one of the crucial problems in our country. To keep our campus free from such waste , segregation is done which helps reduce the Burdon of BBMP. A step towards promoting sustainable environment for recycling, reducing and reusing.
