Culrav-2022 A Tradition that Continues

V.E.T FGC College has a rich tradition of conducting Inter-collegiate fest-Culrav every year to enable students to exhibit the inherent talents. This was a huge event organised after the pandemic and the number of colleges that participated was overwhelming. The events organised included Gaana Kogile- Solo singing, Carolers- Group singing. Songlio- Guess the song, Creative ads- Mad Ads, Hasya Jabardasth- Stand-up Comedy, Stagger- Reels, Nruthyam - Group dance, Rhythm- Solo dance, Refurbish- Makeover, Manicure- Nail Art. Fashion show and many more totaling 17 cultural and 4 academic events. The mega event witnessed participation from over 45 colleges across Bengaluru with over 120 participants. The guests of Honour for the fest were - Bhushan- Choreographer and actor: Chethan Raj Gowda- actor and model Nisha Hegde- actress and model Jeevan Hallikar- director and choreographer. The whole institution was decked up for the gala event. The price winners were awarded with trophies and medals and the overall rollig trophy was bagged by Community Institute of Management Studies for their extraordinary yet consistent performance in various events organised. The management appreciated the efforts of Principal, faculty members and student volunteers for making this event a huge success.

ಎನ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್. ಎಂದರೇನೆ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ, ಶಿಸ್ತು ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುವ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಸೂಚಿಗಳು ಇಂದಿನ ಯುವಕರೇ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ಎಂಬ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ಯುವ ಜನತೆಯನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಪಥದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎನ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್. ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಂತೆ (ಗಾಂಧಿ)

ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿಯವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಧೈಯೋದ್ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪುಸ್ತಕದಿಂದ ಕಲಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಭವದಿಂದ ಕಲಿತರು ಅವರು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾತಾನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಓದಿ ಅಲ್ಲ. ತಮ್ಮ ನಿತ್ಯ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಅನುಭವದ ಸಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. more I wඪ්යඑවූ. හජ් ಹೊಸ ಚರಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದರು. ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುತಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಮನೆ, ಶಾಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕುವ ದಾರಿ ತೋರಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸವಾಗಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಯುವಕರು ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿ ನೊಂದು ಯುವಕ ಯುವತಿಯರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕುವ ಮಾರ್ಗ ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಯುವಕರಿಗೆ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆ. ಈ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆ 13 ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪೂರೈಸಿದೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವಾ ಮಾನೋಭಾವಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ದಿಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಎ.ಇ.ಟಿ. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ, ವಿ.ಇ.ಟಿ. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿ.ಆರ್. ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು. ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗೌರವ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳದ ಡಾ.ಮಾನಂದಿ ಎನ್.ಸುರೇಶ್ ರವರು ರೇಶ್ ರವರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿ.ಇ.ಟಿ. ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು / ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಡಾ.ಆರ್. ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

2021-22ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಯಲಚವಾಡಿ, ಮರಳವಾಡಿ (ಹೊ), ಕನಕಪುರ (ತಾ), ರಾಮನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರ ಸಲಹೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಂತೆ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ದಿನಾಂಕ 07.03.2022 ರಿಂದ 13.03.20220d edertenag ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನವಾದ ಯೋಗ, ಏರೋಬಿಕ್ಸ್, ಶ್ರಮದಾನ, ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ. ಎಂ.ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಮೂರ್ತಿ, ವಿಷಯ : ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡುನುಡಿ ಯುವ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಪಾತ್ರ, ಡಾ.ಶಾಂತರಾಜು- ಸೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯುವಜನತೆ, ಅಮೃರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ-ಜಾನಪದ ಗಾಯನ, ಡಾ.ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ-ಆಧುನಿಕ ಸಮಾಜ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂಡ ನಂಬಿಕೆಗಳು. ಡಾ.ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ- ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು మాధ్యమ ఓగే విద్యాధికాగాణి అరవన్ను మూతినలాయకు.

ಹಾಗೆ ಈ ಒಂದು ಶಿಬಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಲಜವಾಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರುಕೂಡ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ಈ ಒಂದು ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟನ, ಉದಯವಾಣಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎನ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಶಿಬಿರದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವುದು ತುಂಬ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆಯೂ ಜನಮಾನಸಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಯುವ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ತಲುಪಿ ಅವು ಉತ್ತಮ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಯೂರಿ ಮಾದರಿ ಸಮಾಜ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಆಶಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

19th August 2022 at B.V Rathnanah Setty Sabhangana, witnessed a colorful mesmerizing gala event Facci Vision 2022, where 27 budding designers walked the ramp with 5 ensembles showcasing various options like Fighter fish, Lady Bag, Ikat, Celosta Cockscomb, Origamiets,

The event also witnessed 10 budding designers win trophies for the following Categories

Chief Guest Jessy Lawrence, Co-Founder & Director of Lawrence clothing Pvt. Ltd along without proud alumni Chandan Gowda, Fashion Designer & Celebrity Stylist were the jury for the event. Dr Manandi N Surest Hon Secretary V.E.T Institutions along with Chief Guests presented the awards to the young designers for showcasing their collections.

International Webinar on New Normal for GEN Z - 9th and 10th June 2020

VET First Grade College organised Two Day International Webinar on "New Normal for Gen Zin association with Rotary Bengaluru Spandana. This International webinar was held on 9th &10th June 2020 using virtual platform. In the crucial time of COVID-19 pandemic the entire world is looking for new pathways for survival. The webinar witnessed 5 speakers over 2 Days Mr. Sameer Hariani, Dentist by profession and a trainer on online lifestyle speaking on the topic- Dazzle your way to online teaching, Mr. Choi, Hongkong, Chairman of International Youth Fellowship, s, Sri Lanka and Director of International Mind Education Institute, Sri Lanka spoke on topic Finding hope and courage, Mr. Thomas Henderson, Director of International Mind Education Institute for Karnataka State, India who spoke on topic Power of Connection, Dr.Shyam Lal Soni, Director of National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand spoke on Topic Visiting faculty at Manipal University, Department of generation and Prof. Sandya Faculty And Commerce spoke on the topic- "Re-alignment of Social Science research to address contemporary issue". The webinar was attended by over 200 participants students and was extremely helpful for all the participants.

Orientation Virtual – 14th September 2020 (UG) 9th January 2021(PG)

The first ever virtual orientation programme 2020 to welcome the new incumbents to the college was conducted on 14th September 2020 for under graduation and on 9th January 2021for M.Com through virtual platform via Zoom a and Microsoft teams respectively. Dr Parvathi Oriented the students about Objectives, Mission and Vision of the college, the founding trustees, the current management team, teaching I and non-teaching fraternity, details s a about course, short term courses, the various committees that are functioning in the college, the various curricular and co-curricular activities at the college, the examination pattern and allotment of marks and all other relevant details necessary to the students.

The Principal gave complete details from entering the college till Graduation after 3 years. This was followed by virtual and symbolic release of Handbooks namely - Parichaya student handbook,Anubandha - Parent handbook about the code of conduct, Anveshane -IQAC handbook for quality enhancement in college, Committee handbook detailing about committees and Mithra Alumni handbook emphasizing the linkage of students with alma mater by the dignitaries.

Vaccination Drive - Prevention against Pandemic- 2020

The coronavirus pandemic contracting the virus and same has led to severe Disruption. The teaching and learning in India and across the world crisis. With more cases being reported from schools and colleges, focus was on vaccinating as many staff as possible. In view of this backdrop, Dr.R.Parvathi, principle and Academic Director planned and organised a camp in the campus on 17th April 2021 in association with BBMP and Primary Health Centre, JP Nagar, Bangalore for faculty and family members in the category of 45 years and above. In total, 45 members got vaccinated. In addition to this, regular periodic testing camps were organised to ensure learning is not disrupted and to protect the safety of faculty and students at large.

Pulse Polio - 31/01/2021

The NSS Unit of VET First Grade College has joined hands with BBMP for the elimination of poliomyelitis (polio) by an Immunization campaign called Pulse Polio. This was done by(polio) by an vaccinating all children under the age of five years. The Campaign kick started from 31stJanuary 2021 and continued until four consecutive days (3rd February 2021). This took place at JP Nagar Health center. The inauguration was done by Dr. Geetha and Narayanaswamy S. G, Vice Principal of VET FGC. A total of 90 students from the NSS of VET FGC participated asent volunteers and covered Sarakki BBMP Ward (No.178), J P Nagar BBMP Ward(No.177 and Shakambari Nagar BBMP Ward (No.179).

International Conference

"Multidisciplinary Research on Challenges to Change and Development"

19th February 2020 was a milestone in the history of VET First Grade College as it organized its Maiden International Conference titled "Multidisciplinary Research on Challenges to Change and Development". The conference started with a digital inauguration by Dr R Parvathi, Academic Director And Principal VET Colleges and Plenary Session speaker Prof. Suresh Raghavendra, Director Human Resources, GIRMITI Software.

The conference was organized as under

• Plenary Session I and II-Technology Disruption and its impact on Global Economy
• Formal Inauguration
• Technical Session and Paper Presentation
• Valedictory Session

The Conference witnessed the release of 3 books

• Conference Souvenir-containing abstracts of all authors

• UGC Care listed Journal-Our Heritage Journal ISSN 0474-9030

Overall, the Conference witnessed a total of over 500 participants including 150 organisers. It was an eventful day with deliberations on "Multidisciplinary research on Challenges to Change and Development" paving way for changes which have become an inevitable part of every sphere in society. The conference was a step taken by the college in the right direction as indicated in Bhagwat Gita-"Change is the Law of Nature".

Inter Collegiate Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament

VET Premier League - 2019 / Date: 18-09-2019 & 19-09-2019

Chief Guest Sri. Ameet. S.N, Professional Coach-BCCI level A, inaugurated 10th Inter Collegiate Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament on 18th September, 2019 at VET Grounds. The Tournament was conducted for 2 days. On the concluding day Sri. B. R. Viswanath Setty, President, Vasava Educational Trust gave away the much-awaited trophies and cash prize. The winners were "Community Institute of Management", Jayanagar who bagged 5000/- cash price and a rolling trophy, the runners were Loyola College, Bannerghatta Road, with cash prize of 2500/-. "Man of The Match" was bagged by Mr. Varun of Community College and Mr. Rakesh of Loyola College and "Man of the Series" was won by Mr. Rakesh of Loyola College. The Management, Principal and the entire team of VET First Grade College congratulated the winners, runners and all the 52 participating colleges to the event.

7 Days NSS Special Camp - 2020

NSS Special Camp was conducted at NSS Bhavan Janabharathi Campus from 2nd to 8th March 2020.The camp began with NSS flag hoisting and program schedule for the camp was Yoga & exercise followed by Shramadhan, Special lectures by dignitaries, cultural programs, games, debates competitions.

During the camp leadership, communication skills, health & hygiene, environment awareness, social responsibility programmes are conducted.

The Department's Annual Fashion show titled "FACCIO 2019"- a fashion fair.... for the graduating designers of the 6th Sem was organized in B.V.Rathnaiah Setty Sabhangana as a part of their curriculum of the subject "Fashion Portfolio and Design Collection". Chief Guest of the function was Mr. Yogesh Mishra, Fashion Designer. The jury for the show was Prof. Premakumari. H.N, Retd. Professor, Smt. V.H.D Central Institute of Home Science.The Department's Annual Fashion show titled "FACCIO 2019"- a fashion fair.... for the graduating designers of the 6th Sem was organized in B.V.Rathnaiah Setty Sabhangana as a part of their curriculum of the subject "Fashion Portfolio and Design Collection". Ms. Prachi Garg bagged the Best Designer, Ms. Radhika Agarwal walked away with Overall Presentation, Ms. Darshini.S won best Choreography award, and Ms. Karuna Dugar won the Best Theme, Ms. Rachana won for Best Make Up and Hairstyle, Ms.Nithya won for Best Accessories and Props and Best Design award (Non- Wearable Category) went to Ms.Nishmitha Nair, Best Model Hunt award went to Ms.Madhuri Bharadwaj and Ms. Bhumika's collection won Viewer's choice award.

The chief guest of the show complimented staff and the students for organizing such a wonderful event.

Culrav 2019

On 26th March 2019, the Annual Cultural Programme at VET First Grade College. Culrav was held in B.V.Rathnaiah Setty Sabhangana, VET Campus in a befitting manner. The day began on a very auspicious note with the invocation of God's blessing dignitaries. The function was presided by Chief Guest Prof. Prem Kumari, Mr. B. R. Vishwanath Setty, President, VET Institutions.

Dr.R. Parvathi, Academic Director & Principal of VET First Grade College, welcomed the gathering and introduced chief guest Prof. Prema Kumari. She heartily thanked the management for the enormous support in all the curriculum and extra-curriculum activities. The chief guest delivered valuable speech and distributed centum awards to the faculties who achieved 100% result in their subjects, prizes for the champions outstanding and distinction students for their achievements. The event of the day-long programme included fashion show & group songs, group dance and skit which showcase the talent of students. Cultural day gave th opportunities to exhibit the talent among the students.

Milestone – Journey of NAAC - 2nd Cycle

A two day NAAC - National Assessment and Accreditation council, peer team visit was scheduled on Feb 19 & 20th 2019 at VET FGC for 2nd cycle of accreditation.

It was an invigorating experience for the institution by the peer team members which consisted of chairperson Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Vice chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Member Co-ordinator - Dr. Ketan Upadhyay, Professor Maharaja Sayaji Rao, University of Baroda. Member Dr. Deepali Shingee, Professor, J.D Birla Institute, Kolkata, West Bengal and NAAC Co-ordinator Dr Ruchi Trapani, Bengaluru.

NSS 7 Days Special Camp

Special 7 days NSS camp conducted at NSS Bhavan,Gnana Bharathi, Bangalore University, Bangalore.NSS special camp was scheduled from 11th March 2018 to 17th March 2018 held at NSS Bhavan in Bangalore University Campus. NSS special camp helps in building communication skills and unites us together like a family and it also builds self- confidence in every NSS cadet. NSS camp is the best way to improve our leadership qualities. We have learnt self-discipline and time-management moreover we mainly get to know the value of food.NSS special camp conducts various events like early morning prayers, exercises, shramadhana & social welfare seminars & cultural events etc. these activities help to prove our talents. NSS special camp is the best way to serve for the society and creates awareness among the youth to safeguard the nature.
