Anti Ragging Cell
Ragging includes any conduct by any student/s whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, indulging in rowdy undisciplined activities by students causing annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or raising fear or apprehension in any fresher or student. It also includes any act affecting the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without intent to derive asadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student, and all such incidents.
Objectives:
- To root out ragging in all its forms from universities, colleges and other educational institutions in the country by prohibiting it by law, preventing its occurrence by following the provisions of these Regulations and punishing those who indulge in ragging as provided for in these Regulations and the appropriate law in force (UGC Ref :NO. F 1-16/2007 (CPP-II) April, 2009).
- To keep a constant watch and vigil over ragging so as to avoid its incidence and repetition.
- To promptly and strictly deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.
- To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not be ignored and unpunished.

Roles and responsibilities
- The committee has to ensure enough steps are taken to create awareness on the topic.
- If in case any person approaches any of the committee member, the member is immediately inform others and call for the meeting.
Anti-Ragging Redressal Procedure
- A written complaint will be taken from the aggrieved person, necessary action to be taken, preferably to settle the matter through counseling and conciliations as soon as possible. In case the issue is not sorted, inquiry will be conducted and issue will be sorted out within 10 days from the date of complaint.
- The members to be vigilant all the time and ensure that there is no such incident taking place in campus by creating awareness and having an open dialogue with all the students.
- Committee ensures that the students interact and come out of their personal problems so that they succeed in their efforts, and this would prevent any life threatening end.
Mechanism
College staff, students, parents; other relevant stakeholders may provide their complaints and get redressed about their complaint either online or offline by sending mail or submitting hard copy of the form or even online logging in vetfgc.edu.in or mailing to vetfgc@rediffmail.com
